Fleeting Dream: Monster... was chasing me... I ran... it hurts... help... help me, please...!
Paladin: Don't give up! I will save you!

This scene comes from my planned story "The Knight and the Flower", where mine and pony OCs, Paladin and Fleeting Dream, are the main characters. Done in about 2 hours in Photoshop and with the help of Pony Creator, as always.

This is from the first chapter which takes place 3 years before the actual story. This is how Paladin met Fleeting Dream when he was younger. He heard her crying and upon rushing to the source of the sound, he found the poor filly. She was running away from a chimera and although she managed to escape, she fell into thorny bushes. As she tried to struggle free, she eventually did, but the thorns wounded her badly and even pierced her wing and leg. Lying in agony, the poor pegasus prayed for death and the end of her suffering...

Whether the fact he was there at that time was a coincidence or not, Paladin managed to tender to her wounds using his healing magic, though it left him greatly exhausted. In an act of gratitude, the blue pegasus offered to help Paladin in getting back home to Canterlot. This is how their great friendship started...

It would later come to fact that saving Fleeting Dream's life has earned Paladin his cutie mark - a shine of light, indicating his speciality in light magic and helping others.
